About Dark Tranquillity

Dark Tranquillity is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Billdal/Gothenburg, formed in 1989. Known for pioneering the “Gothenburg sound,” combining growled and clean vocals, twin guitar harmony and atmospheric keyboards. Hits include “The Treason Wall,” “Misery’s Crown,” “ThereIn” and “In My Absence.” Their latest album is Endtime Signals (August 16, 2024), first with Christian Jansson (bass) and Joakim Strandberg Nilsson (drums). They won the Swedish Grammis in 2021 for moment as Hard Rock/Metal Album of the Year. Renowned for their evolving style and influence on melodic death metal globally.
